We’ll pick you up from the airport or your accommodation in Casablanca. Casablanca is both Morocco’s economic hub and its largest city. We begin with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, located on the city’s west coast. Its cliffside setting offers stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean.
You’ll have some spare time for lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the city and visit the beautiful Corniche area of Casablanca. We will spend the night in a hotel.
After breakfast, we drive along the coastline to Rabat, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the current capital, located in the northwest of the country. You’ll visit the main highlights of the capital, including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. You’ll have free time for lunch.
We then head north via Ouazzane to reach the Blue City of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. Overnight in a hotel.
After breakfast, you’ll have some time to wander through the beautiful alleyways of Chefchaouen, famous for its blue-washed streets and houses.
We then drive to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its excellent state of preservation. You’ll see many beautiful mosaics, as well as ancient pillars and archways.
After exploring the ruins, we continue about 30 kilometers to Meknes, the former capital of the Alaouite Sultan Moulay Ismail and one of Morocco’s imperial cities. We’ll explore Bab El Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the royal stables, the granary, and finally the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.
We then continue to Fes, overnight in a riad.
Today, we explore the highlights of Fes with a knowledgeable local guide. Fes is Morocco’s cultural and spiritual heart, as well as an imperial city.
We start with a visit to the gates of the Royal Palace. The well-preserved medieval medina of Fes is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll see the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), which marks the entrance to the old medina.
Inside the medina, you’ll visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, and the tanneries.
We then continue to the Qarawiyyin Mosque and University, considered the world’s oldest operating university. After leaving the medina, we visit the Jewish quarter, known as the Mellah.
In the afternoon, we drive up to an old fortress for a panoramic view over the medina and the city of Fes. Return to your riad for the night.
After breakfast, we drive south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane. This mountain town is known for its cold winters, frequent snowfall, and alpine-style houses, which is why it’s often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.”
We continue to the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, home to the Barbary macaques. You can walk among the trees and, if you wish, feed the monkeys.
We then continue to Midelt, where you’ll have free time for lunch. Afterward, we drive to Merzouga via the Tizi n’Talghamt Pass and along the Ziz Valley, with stops along the way to enjoy panoramic views.
In the afternoon, we arrive in the Sahara Desert at Merzouga. Here you’ll switch to camels and ride across the sand dunes. We’ll stop on top of a high dune to watch the sunset.
You then continue to the desert camp, where you’ll enjoy Berber drum music and dancing around the campfire under a sky full of stars. Dinner and overnight in the camp.
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After some spare time for breakfast at the camp, you’ll ride your camel back to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting.
We’ll spend the rest of the day exploring the Merzouga region, which offers many fascinating sites: rolling dunes, seasonal wild lakes, fossil fields, mines, and lush oases.
We begin with an off-road drive to visit an old kohl (eyeliner) mine. Then we visit a nomad family in their handwoven tent to learn about their way of life while sharing a glass of Berber tea.
Next, we head to Khamlia village, where you’ll enjoy traditional Gnawa music and dancing. The villagers are originally from sub-Saharan countries such as Mali and Sudan. You’ll have free time for lunch in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we stroll through a palm grove, then drive a short distance to the wild lake of Merzouga, often called Flamingo Lake when it is full of water and birds.
We will have dinner and spend the night in a hotel or riad located in Merzouga.
After breakfast, we leave the desert and drive to Rissani, the former capital of the Tafilalet region. Rissani remains an important trading center, home to a large, lively traditional souk.
After a walk through the Rissani souk, we continue to Erfoud to visit a workshop that specializes in fossilized marble.
We then drive through the Berber village of Touroug and the palm groves of Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges. Here, the Todra River has carved a spectacular canyon through the mountains, with towering red cliffs. It’s a popular destination for rock climbers.
You can walk through the gorge and take in the dramatic scenery. We’ll have free time for lunch at a nearby restaurant.
Afterward, we continue to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, stopping to see the “Monkey Fingers” rock formations. The day ends at a viewpoint overlooking the Dades Valley.
We have dinner and spend the night in a hotel.
After breakfast, we continue our journey to Kalaat M’Gouna to visit the Rose Valley. Every May, the valley hosts the Rose Festival, where locals celebrate the rose harvest and sell rose-based products.
We then drive through Skoura’s palm groves to Ouarzazate, the “Gateway to the Desert.” Here, we tour the film studios that have hosted numerous renowned movies.
Next, we journey to the renowned Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified villages. It has appeared in numerous films and series, including Gladiator, Alexander, and Game of Thrones.
We then continue toward Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. On the way, we’ll stop for lunch and to take photos at scenic viewpoints.
We will spend the night in a riad located in Marrakech.
After breakfast, you’ll explore the highlights of Marrakech with a local guide. Marrakech is one of Morocco’s four imperial cities.
The tour includes visits to the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Madrasa. You will also stroll through the largest traditional souk in Morocco.
You’ll have free time for lunch near Jemaa el-Fna Square. In the afternoon, you visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech, and the Majorelle Garden.
After the tour, we transfer you back to your accommodation. You can then enjoy more time on your own in Jemaa el-Fna.
After breakfast, we drive west toward Essaouira. Along the way, we’ll stop for panoramic views and to see argan trees, often with goats climbing them.
We then arrive in Essaouira, formerly known as Mogador, one of Morocco’s most charming coastal cities. Essaouira is famous for its fresh seafood, long sandy beaches, and excellent surfing conditions.
We’ll visit the fishing port, the 18th-century ramparts lined with cannons, and the historic medina. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Essaouira.
